Synopsis

The Garden Bridge tells the story of two families whose paths cross unexpectedly for a brief moment in time. Separated by language, culture, and a narrow hallway, the Ye family and the Steinburg family find themselves as unlikely neighbors in Japanese-occupied Shanghai in 1941. Overcoming initial prejudices, the two families come together over a shared yearning for reclaimed dignity and a sense of normalcy. The Garden Bridge sheds light on this lesser-known period of history and underscores the power of community toward fostering resilience, hope, and pride in one’s story.
